Agreements and Terms of Story Compass Creative Studio

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your purchase of, registration for, and participation in any Story Compass gathering, event, digital product, or membership.
Story Compass is a trading name of LuMa Ventures LLC, a Georgia limited liability company (“Story Compass,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By completing a purchase or registering for an event, you (“you,” “your,” or “the participant”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
The few rules
Not permitted: Oil paints, solvents, aerosols, spray fixatives, resin, open flame, torches, kilns, heat guns, pottery wheels, sewing machines or any powered tool, wet clay slip and glazes. No filming or recording in the studio space. Any photos require permission of the maker or person photographed.
“Work-work” kept to a minimum. This is a studio for creating and developing, not a co-working space. One person focused on tasks or emails changes the energy in the room.
Feedback only when the maker asks, in the terms she asks for.
Confidentiality. Creative Studio is a safe space for a small group of women who want to prioritize their creativity. No discussion of other people’s works outside of the studio is permitted, unless with express consent of the maker. The same goes for conversations, which are private and confidential. Any sharing outside the studio requires prior permission from all involved in the work or conversation.
Clean your space before you go. No mess or materials left behind.
Terms of Enrollment
Term and commitment. Registration and enrollment in a Creative Studio Day is for the full day. Registration and enrollment for a Creative Studio Series is for all sessions in the series, which are not sold by the session and do not offer drop-ins. Your seat is reserved for you for the entire series.
Payment. Processed through a Stripe payment link, billed by LuMa Venture. Your seat is confirmed when payment is received.
Attendance and refunds. For Creative Studio Series, your seat is yours whether or not you attend. There are no makeup sessions, no partial refunds, and no credit carried forward for sessions you miss. Fees are non-refundable once you have enrolled. For Creative Studio Days, you may reschedule or get a credit for Creative Studio Days with at least 48 hour notice prior to the start of your Series or Day. You may also transfer your seat to another woman, with written communications to Dorothy Vollmer beforehand.
Cancelled sessions. If a session is cancelled for weather, illness, or any other reason, it will be rescheduled or added to the end of the series so you receive all eight. If a session cannot be rescheduled, a prorated credit toward the next series or refund for the cancelled session will be issued. If a Creative Studio Day is cancelled, it will be rescheduled or refunded if rescheduling is not possible.
Your seat is yours. Creative Studio Series seats are not transferable once the series has begun and may not be shared, sold, or given to a substitute. Additionally, guests are not permitted to join a session.
Materials. Shared supplies are for use in the space and remain in the space. You are responsible for your own belongings; the Studio is not responsible for materials or personal property lost, damaged, or left behind.
Your work is yours. You retain full ownership of everything you make. The Studio claims no rights to your work, ideas, or intellectual property.
Photography and privacy. Photographs may occasionally be taken during sessions for promotional use. Your consent is requested separately at enrollment and can be withdrawn at any time by telling me. What's shared in the room stays in the room; please don't photograph, record, or share another member's work or anything she says without her permission.
Studio Guidelines. Enrollment assumes agreement with the guidelines above. The Studio reserves the right to end a member's participation for conduct that disrupts the space or its members; a prorated refund of remaining sessions will be issued in that case.
Safety. You are responsible for the safe use of your own materials and tools. You participate at your own risk and agree to hold LuMa Ventures LLC (which operates Story Compass and Creative Studio) harmless for injury, illness, or loss occurring in connection with the Creative Studio, to the extent permitted by law.
Changes. Session dates are provided at enrollment. If a date must change, notice will be given as early as possible. Terms will not change mid-series.
Agreement. Completing enrollment and submitting payment constitutes agreement to these terms.
